Comments:

This is an old model that shows its age. Still it can be built into a decent model. The main drawback, in my opinion is the overdone rivet effect and some fits issues on the wing root. The cockpit is basic and the seat is bad. I got a replacement from the spares box (a leftover P-51B seat from an ICM kit. Not correct, but good enough). I applied Model Master seatbelts decal to improve the look of it. Some drybrushing of the instrument panel brought the bezels to life.

I pre-shade the model with black and painted with Model Masters enamels. Future went over before the decals and the washes (I applied a brown/black first and a rust later). The decals are from all over the place. Some of them from an ICM kit others from an aftermarket set and the "10" from a Tamiya F4U-1D. Finally some Tamiya smoke was used for the engine exhaust and some post-shading.

I scratch built the machine guns using electrical connectors. All and all I had fun with this built and I added some red stars to my model collection, not to mention a P-40 on a naval blue scheme. You just have to love it!
